School year started

Summer is over and I can't believe that my little boy is a FIRST GRADER now. It's bitter sweet to see him so grown, with new responsibilities upon him. There was absolutely no doubt that we should continue home schooling this year. I feel much more confident and I get great support from our home option school which D. continues to visit every week. This year we got to pick 5 subjects. It made things easier for me, because I can follow curriculum that is used in "specialty classes" such as science and history (two that proved the most challenging for me two plan during Kindergarten).

There was a lot of adjustments for the past two weeks, getting on the regular schedule, putting all lesson plans together etc, but we made it so far.

The month of September will be dedicated to the study of Ancient Egypt, Brazil (D.'s pick for culture/geography) and Animal Kingdom for science).
We started Ancient Egypt today, I plan to prepare a .pdf file with all the stuff that we will be doing and I will also post our activities as we go through them.

  1. Hello Anya, I have just seen your page on D's artwork gallery. It's really lovely. Do you use any book for guidance on developing their art or is it spontaneous depending on what they are learning that day?
How old is your little one?
Would you be able to reply to twolittleseeds@gmail.com, I would love to hear your story about those pictures. Love and blessings, Daisy x
